    iPhone 6

Apple's new 4.7-inch iPhone 6 and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus are both larger than the current 4-inch models. They neutralise a key advantage Android phones have had: size. And Apple managed to make its new phones thinner, with edges that are curved and fit nicely in the hands. Gone is the glass back, reducing the chances of breakage. The back will now be made of aluminium and feel more like an iPad. To improve one-handed use, both new models will have a feature called reachability. With two light taps of the home screen button, the icons, controls and content on the top half of the screen snap to the bottom, so you can reach them with the same hand. Once you make your selection, everything snaps back to the top. The iPhone 6 Plus also has new horizontal layouts to take advantage of the larger size. Of course, apps have long worked either horizontally and vertically. On the Plus, horizontal viewing extends to the home screen, and apps will be able to arrange content in two columns. When texting, for instance, contacts appear on the left and messages appear on the right. On smaller phones, including the regular iPhone 6, you get one or the other, not both side by side. It's a small touch, but it shows that larger doesn't necessarily mean making everything bigger. Windows phones also make use of larger screens by squeezing in more content, but with Android phones, text and images just get blown up

    Samsung Galaxy S5, Black 16GB

The juiciest details on the Galaxy S5 to date have come from Sammobile, which reported that Samsung’s high-end Android smartphones will be trading in their plastic cases for metal. According to the report, the metal version of the Galaxy S5 will cost around €800. There will still be a lower-cost plastic model, Sammobile said, which will go for about €650. It isn’t clear if the metal and plastic versions of the device will bear different names, such as the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c. The screen resolution of the new Galaxy S smartphones are also set to be pushed beyond the realm of the reasonable into Quad High Definition (QHD) territory. Sammobile said it was still unclear on details such as the size of the battery that is meant to power this monstrosity, but a report on PhoneArena suggested that the Galaxy S5 would have a new type of 2,900mAh Lithium-Ion battery. The specifications that Sammobile reports as “confirmed” include: Display: QHD (2,560×1,440) Super AMOLED; Processor: Exynos 6 / Snapdragon 805 processor Rear camera: 16 Megapixel; Operating system: Android 4.4 Kit-Kat; and Plastic and metal versions. With the Galaxy S4, Samsung launched models that ran on its own Exynos processor, as well as an LTE-capable model that used Snapdragon chips from Qualcomm. Sammobile said that they have been told that LTE is no longer a problem for the new Exynos 6 processor, and speculated that Samsung might use Qualcomm’s processor in the lower-cost plastic version of the Galaxy S5. The Galaxy S5 is expected to be announced and launched around March/April 2014, with Bloomberg placing a Samsung executive on record confirming the launch window.

Nokia Lumia 2520 4G LTE Tablet

Nokia Lumia 2520 review What is the Nokia Lumia 2520? Nokia’s first foray into the cut-throat world of tablets comes in the form of the Lumia 2520 – a Windows RT 10.1-inch tab with an impressive spec list. Just like with the Microsoft Surface 2 a keyboard can be attached, but it’s not available yet so we’ll be evaluating the 2520 as a standard tablet and updating the review when the keyboard becomes available. It seems bizarre that Nokia has put the 2520 on sale without this option, but the fact it comes with built-in 4G for a similar price as standalone Surface 2 without it shows there's more to the 2520 than a mere Surface 2 clone. Nokia announced the Lumia 2520 at Nokia World on Tuesday, a 10in Windows 8.1 RT device that sees the firm entering the crowded tablet market. The Nokia Lumia 2520 is the Finnish phone firm's first tablet device, and it sees the company challenging Apple's iPad lineup and Microsoft's Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 tablets. It looks like Nokia means business, claiming that the Lumia 2520 boasts the brightest display on the tablet market, with the 10in display capable of hitting brightness levels of 720 nits, and besting the iPad and Nexus tablets when it comes to reflections, or lack thereof. Nokia also claimed the design as a selling point, with the tablet echoing the vibrancy of the firm's Lumia smartphone lineup, with the Lumia 2520 set to launch in pink and blue hues. Nokia CEO Stephen Elop said, "We designed the Nokia Lumia 2520 to sit comfortably in the hand. We have also designed it to get it out of the house - making a tablet mobile means it has to connect - so it will come with LTE connectivity." As well as support for 4G LTE, the Nokia Lumia 2520 features a quad-core 2.15GHz Qualcomm processor, 11 hours of battery life with fast charging, and Microsoft's Windows 8.1 RT mobile operating system, providing the device with Microsoft's Office suite, Outlook and all of the usual pre-loaded applications.
