Nokia Lumia 2520 4G LTE Tablet
Nokia Lumia 2520 review
What is the Nokia Lumia 2520?
Nokia’s first foray into the cut-throat world of tablets comes in the form of the Lumia 2520 – a Windows RT 10.1-inch tab with an impressive spec list. Just like with the Microsoft Surface 2 a keyboard can be attached, but it’s not available yet so we’ll be evaluating the 2520 as a standard tablet and updating the review when the keyboard becomes available. It seems bizarre that Nokia has put the 2520 on sale without this option, but the fact it comes with built-in 4G for a similar price as standalone Surface 2 without it shows there's more to the 2520 than a mere Surface 2 clone.
Nokia announced the Lumia 2520 at Nokia World on Tuesday, a 10in Windows 8.1 RT device that sees the firm entering the crowded tablet market.
The Nokia Lumia 2520 is the Finnish phone firm's first tablet device, and it sees the company challenging Apple's iPad lineup and Microsoft's Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 tablets.
It looks like Nokia means business, claiming that the Lumia 2520 boasts the brightest display on the tablet market, with the 10in display capable of hitting brightness levels of 720 nits, and besting the iPad and Nexus tablets when it comes to reflections, or lack thereof.
Nokia also claimed the design as a selling point, with the tablet echoing the vibrancy of the firm's Lumia smartphone lineup, with the Lumia 2520 set to launch in pink and blue hues.
Nokia CEO Stephen Elop said, "We designed the Nokia Lumia 2520 to sit comfortably in the hand. We have also designed it to get it out of the house - making a tablet mobile means it has to connect - so it will come with LTE connectivity."
As well as support for 4G LTE, the Nokia Lumia 2520 features a quad-core 2.15GHz Qualcomm processor, 11 hours of battery life with fast charging, and Microsoft's Windows 8.1 RT mobile operating system, providing the device with Microsoft's Office suite, Outlook and all of the usual pre-loaded applications.
